Join us for AFAR's monthly Civic Kids Story Hour this Saturday at 11:00am, where we will read stories together followed by an arts and crafts activity.

We’re so excited to welcome Representative Cynthia Ball to CKSH! Not only is she chair of the Freshman Caucus and rising star in the NCGA, but a grandmother to 3 little ones! She’s fierce, funny, feminist and fabulous.

Reading starts at 11:10, followed by craft and social time.

AFAR stands for Activating Families Across Raleigh. "We work to make progressive activism and civic engagement accessible to all Raleigh families." Learn more at

Local educator, Deanna Hicks, will be guiding us through the activity. Arts & crafts may incorporate a variety of materials and methods, from paper crafting, paints and mixed media. Activities are designed to be appropriate for most kids ages 2+, are intended to be an exploration of the arts and focused on building confidence and fine motor skills.

No registration is needed for storytime and there is no charge for AFAR attendees.
