A special Zambezi Puppets' performance of Munyaradzi Goes to School in Zimbabwe!
Students will be delighted with this puppet show, which depicts the life of children in rural Zimbabwe. The children will gain an insight into the culture, social customs, language and food of the country. Some Shona words are incorporated into the show and children will learn the location of Zimbabwe and the dangers posed by a cranky African ostrich!
The show portrays the value placed on education and the choices that need to be made when financial resources are scarce. The characters model respect for self and empathy for others, how to verbalize needs and deal with bullying. Children will be challenged to compare their dreams, wants, and needs with those of the children in the play.
After the show, children will be shown examples of the resourcefulness of Zimbabweans – musical instruments and art made from materials in the environment. The total time is 45 minutes.
Registration required and closes 48hours before the event.
