Read and Meet with Dr Layton, PhD

We have a very special guest for storytime this Saturday, Dr Thomas Layton, Ph.D.

Dr. Layton will read with us his book, LITTLE JAZZ MAN and talk about what inspired him to write the story. He will also be talking about his speciality, childhood speech and language development.

Dr. Layton has worked more than 40 years as a professor, clinician, and a teacher. He is the owner and President of Talk and Total Communication. He has authored and edited three textbooks, three tests, and more than 50 articles on children with communication disorders. He has presented locally, nationally, and internationally on more than 150 different topics on communication and learning in low achieving children. He has served as Department Chair of the Department of Communication Disorders at North Carolina Central University and the Director of Graduate Studies in the Division of Speech and Hearing Sciences at the University of North Carolina Chapel-Hill. He also is the author of two children’s books: Little Jazz Man, and Little Jazz Man and the Circus.
