Calling all Bookworms and Word Wizards!

Summer Camps at Read With Me include a variety of writing, reading, arts activities, games and special days for dress-up too. Join us for lots of fun with friends in the warm and inviting workshop setting within our downtown Raleigh bookstore.

Registration is now open!  Our small class size means we will reach capacity quickly. Book today to ensure your spot.

Camp Details

Bookworms - Rising 1st-3rd graders, ages 6-8, max. size 8

Word Wizards - Rising 4th-6th graders, ages 9-11, max. size 10

Camp Schedule

Weekly, Monday-Friday  

9:00 am - 12:00 pm Camp (daily snack included)

12:00 pm - 1:00 pm Lunch Bunch (optional, additional fees)

Camp Cost

$150 per week

Base cost includes a daily snack, all materials and a *10% off in-store coupon.

Add $20 per week - Join us for Lunch Bunch! Bring your own lunch and hang out with us.

OR

Add $45 - Join us for lunch-included Lunch Bunch! A box lunch will be provided daily by a local restaurant.

Notes:

  • Word Wizards must have a copy of the book needed for camp, and ideally have read the book. You may bring your own copy from home. If you purchase a copy from us, you will receive a 20% discount.

  • Bookworms will receive a thematic picture book based on the camp they attend.

  • Please bring a water bottle.

  • Please let us know about dietary restrictions or other special needs.

  • *A note about 10% off in-store coupon- some artists may elect to exclude their art from discounts. Please ask about discounts on art before purchase.

Refunds and Cancellations

Camps fees are due at the time of registration. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please contact us as soon as possible. Refunds are available up to 14 days before your camp begins. Cancellations made less than two weeks in advance will not receive a refund. Cancellations will incur a $50 cancellation fee.

Bookworms - Rising 1st-3rd graders, ages 6-8, max. size 8

June 11 - 15

  • The Dinosaurs of Waterhouse Hawkins – Have you ever wondered who first brought dinosaurs to life? Meet Waterhouse Hawkins, the first naturalist and artist to take dinosaurs from imagination to realistic models. Create prehistoric  projects including true form fossils, trace fossils and a working volcano.
  • (June 11 is a snow make-up day for WCPSS. We will prorate the fees for that date. Please note in your registration if you are affected by this make-up day and cannot attend.)

June 25 - 29

  • Neverland – "Second star to the right and straight on till morning!"  Fly away for a week of pirates, mermaids, and fairies as we read, write and create magical projects with a dash of pixie dust.  

July 16 - 20

  • Once Upon A Time – Enter the world of fairytales through creative projects such as crowns, shadow puppets, villain "wanted" posters, planting a beanstalk to take home and other fantastical projects. 

August 13 - 17

  • Aladdin’s Adventures - Take a ride on a magic carpet as we seek adventure with Aladdin, Sinbad, and Ali Baba. We’ll encounter genies, mysterious cities, and magic lamps along the way.

 

Word Wizards- Rising 4th-6th graders, ages 9-11, max. size 10

June 18 - 22

  • A Wrinkle In Time - “It was a dark and stormy night.”  Hold on as we journey with Meg on her quest to save her father- and the universe- in a world of magic, mystery and mystical beings.  

July 9 -13

  • Hogwarts, Year 1 – We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry! We will discuss the first book of the series and create magical projects; first years will receive a Hogwarts acceptance package by post.

July 23 - 27

  • Hogwarts, Year 2 - “THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS HAS BEEN OPENED.  ENEMIES OF THE HEIR, BEWARE.” Travel by floo powder, flying car, or Hogwarts Express, but don’t miss your second year!  

August 20 - 24  

  • Camp Half-Blood - “Look, I didn’t want to be a half-blood.  If you are reading this because you think you might be one, my advice is: close this book right now.”  Spend a week with other demigods at Camp Half-Blood as we choose our cabins, participate in training games and craft artifacts from The Olympians series.  (Includes 20% off of Illustrated Percy Jackson #1, released on 8/14)

Lunches provided by Empire Eats for $5 per day or $25 per week. Daily selections:

MONDAY- Chicken Patty Sandwich, Chips and Apple

TUESDAY- Ham and Cheese Sandwich, Yoplait Yogurt, Chips

WEDNESDAY- Meatball Sub, Pasta Salad, Fruit

THURSDAY- Turkey Burger, Side Salad with Ranch, Fruit Salad

FRIDAY- Chicken Salad Wrap, Chips and GoGurt
