Friday Reading Explorers
This is the registration for Exploris Elementary Friday Explorations “READING EXPLORERS” SESSIONS 1-6. Costs vary by the length of each session, but are $6 per day.
Session 5 is “Fantastic Beasts” - Before Harry Potter, there was Newt Scamander. Explore a new wizarding world full of fantastic beasts with our favorite magizoologist! Create your own bowtruckle, occamy egg, and more beastly projects.
Registration for your session must be paid before the session begins. There is a minimum of 5 and maximum of 10 students per session.
If you would like your child to purchase a book for themselves during their session, we recommend buying an online Read With Me gift card instead of sending cash.
Read With Me CAMPS
CAMPS at Read With Me include a variety of writing, reading, arts activities, games and special days for dress-up too. Join us for lots of fun with friends in the warm and inviting workshop setting within our downtown Raleigh bookstore. Check out the gallery below for a sample of our creative book-based activities.
CAMPS are for students currently in grades 1-5, ages 7-11 (flexible). Homeschoolers and unschoolers are always welcome! Our camp minimum is 4 students and maximum is 10. Once the minimum of 4 students has been met, we will open the camp up to individual day registrations. Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to be added to the individual day camp wait-list.
CAMPS Schedule & Cost
CAMPS are held weekly, Mondays 9:00 am - 12:00 pm (Lunch Bunch 1:00pm)
4 Mondays = 1 camp, $120 per camp- Base cost includes a daily snack, all materials and a 10% off in-store coupon (to be used that week only; not all art may be discounted). LUNCH BUNCH- Bring lunch and hang with us just add $5 per day and stay until 1:00pm.
No need to park. We're happy to meet you outside. Please let us know if you would like to pick up or drop off your child in front of our store*.
We take very seriously the safety and security of each child. Upon registration, we will email you a child information sheet that must be returned before starting camp. Children will remain on-site with their teacher at all times unless we otherwise receive permission for a field trip. *Parents must check in with their teacher before drop off and pick up. If your child is meeting you out front, they will be accompanied by their teacher.
Camps fees are due at the time of registration. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please contact us as soon as possible. Cancellations made less than 7 days before your camp begins will not receive a refund.
Camp 1: 4 sessions each Monday- November 26, December 3,10, 17
Hogwarts, Year 1 – We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry! We will discuss the first book of the series and create magical projects, such as potions, wands and mandrakes. (based on the novel Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling) Open choice reading time is planned for within each session.
Academic Tutoring, Homework Help, Project Assistance
Does your child need regular or occasional academic reinforcement or homework help?
Does your child have long-term projects that they need support to complete?
Join us each weekday from 3:00 - 6:00 pm for tutoring in our inviting creative space at Read With Me for individualized or group academic assistance for rising 1st graders to rising 6th graders.
We can help your child with homework, reading, reports, creating special projects for school or extracurricular activities and much more. We aim to be a community resource to foster curiosity, creativity, and most of all a life-long love of reading.
Pre-register at least 1 day in advance to secure your spot.
Sessions are held for 55 minutes ($35).
Drop-off and pick-up at our sidewalk is available.

Deanna Hicks Privette, BA, earned her K-5 Elementary Education teaching certification from Meredith College in Raleigh, NC. Deanna is a former teacher with 30+ years experience in formal and informal education, ranging from preschool to middle school. Deanna specializes in working with children to develop and enrich literacy skills in engaging and creative ways.
Deanna is also available to consult with classroom teachers and homeschooling instructors to develop a tutoring plan for students.
